Glowing Tufas was taken at Mono Lake during Thanksgiving weekend, 2003.  I was spending the weekend hiking and climbing near Bishop with friends.  It had been a stormy day (we got snowed on while hiking nearby earlier!), but I was hopeful that the clouds would break just enough to give us an impressive sunset so we headed to Mono Lake. I was wandering around the South Tufa area looking for something to shoot when the sun broke through the clouds and lit up this formation.
