Burrowing Owl and Prey

Photographed on Frenchman Hills Road in the Desert Wildlife Area southwest of Moses Lake, Washington

August

One year, an owl had a burrow right next to the road. I used my car as a blind to take this photograph of an adult waiting to feed its young. Another time, a friend captured a photo of 4 young owls lined up expectantly. Their expressions were exquisite.
